The Trig Hat is designed to be a quick and satisfying knit that looks more complex than it truly is. It features bold, chunky ‘ball’ and ‘wheat’ cables, which neatly decrease into the crown.
It is made with bulky yarn but can also be worked in DK yarn held double.
The pattern includes two adult sizes: small/medium and medium/large, 55.5-57 cm (22-22½ inches) and 57-58.5 cm (22½-23 inches). It is designed to fit with a bit of space above the skull but can be adjusted by folding over a larger band.
The beanie is worked in the round from the bottom up.
It is named after a morning walk with my family to a nearby trig station in the drizzle.
